If you don't know where you're going, any road will get you there. Without planning and a sound strategy, how can you know where your firm wants to go, what you need to get there, and whether you reached your destination or not? How will you know what to continue doing and what to do differently the next time you head down that road again? A marketing plan is like a roadmap that outlines how an organization can use a combination of resources and tactics to achieve its business goals and objectives and live up to its mission and vision. In this webinar, Carla Thompson, FSMPS, CPSM will share her method for developing a simple, but effective marketing plan for 2021 and how to measure your Marketing Return on Investment (MROI).

Carla has 37 years of experience in the AEC industry and is highly respected by clients, former employers, co-workers and colleagues. She began her career as a temporary typist for a 50-person architectural firm in Seattle and worked her way up from there to become the Chief Marketing Officer of a multi-office international design firm. Today, she is a senior consultant and "CMO-To-Go" with Elevate Marketing Advisors, working alongside Doug Parker and Jen Newman.

Carla has presented more than 200 seminars, workshops and webinars for SMPS, AIA, AGC, ACEC, SDA and others. She is a Certified Professional Services Marketer and SMPS Fellow, and served on the National Board for three two-year terms. Among her many accomplishments, Carla founded the popular Fellows Forum program, which brings SMPS Fellows together to share their experience, lessons learned, and advice with members at the local, regional and national level. In 2018, she was recognized with the Weld Coxe Marketing Achievement Award, the Society's most prestigious honor, in recognition of her career achievements, leadership roles and lasting contributions to the industry.
