More importantly, does this ring a bell when it comes to executing on your business development and marketing goals? Goals, plans, strategies and all the good intentions in the world are great - but without execution accountability, historically, they’ll fall flat. 

    When it comes to goal setting, accountability requires assigning responsibility for the achievement of each goal.  Accountability may have a negative connotation implying blame or judgment. However, as a measure for tracking success, accountability creates a sense of ownership and pride that often leads to triumph and enhanced ability to achieve your desired outcomes. By holding accountable to your goals, you designate the goal as a priority – not just activity that may or may not get done. In teams, accountability is a great motivator. The competition that naturally arises with shared accountability goals can also play to our human competitive nature and drive to  succeed (and WIN) if not exceed expectations.

    Jen grew up admiring how her dad, a GE Regional Customer Service Manager, cultivated people through mentorship, motivation, and training. Over 20 years ago, Jen entered the professional services industry and built a career followed by a successful agency coaching technical professionals out of their comfort zone to connect with clients to build businesses that support families and communities using many of the techniques she learned from her dad. The role of passionate people cultivator has become her family legacy and continues with her two children who have also joined the A/E/C industry.

    Jen’s mission is to raise a new generation of firm leaders that are confidently and enthusiastically helping their firms grow. As Elevates official "Energizer Bunny", Jen guides Elevate clients to create successful business development plans that accomplish plan goals while building relationship development skills, enforcing her mantra that “business development is everyone’s business.” Her unique approach to engagement – with customized programs using real examples, real clients, and real plans with action items and methods of accountability – ensure learning is extended to implementation. And, Jen makes the process fun!

    Jen also learned the importance and value of service from her dad. Throughout her career, she has served in leadership positions for industry, community, and client organizations. In 2020, Jen was appointed to the Tamarack Grove Engineering Advisory Board. She has a long history serving the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE), including forming the first Texas section, and currently serves on the national public relations committee. Jen is an engaged member, Fellow, and advocate for the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS), having served in numerous roles at the local, regional and Society level. Other past organizational and community involvement includes: APWA, WTS, TEAM FL, North Florida Business Alliance for Advancing Transportation, Support Our Port Community Campaign, Rotary, and the YMCA. Jen holds a BS in Organizational Management and Development.
