The Marketing & Communications Specialist provides support through corporate communications and branding (i.e., press releases, advertisements, company apparel, etc.); development of various marketing tools (i.e., SOQ, covers, banners, signage, etc.); and management of website, social media channels, and the CRM database.  This position also supports proposal production through the development of graphics and may occasionally lead pursuits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Corporate Communications and Branding

– Leads design efforts and works with the Marketing team to prepare award submittals, brochures, banners, advertisements, SOQ’s, and other collateral materials.

– Organizes and maintains all photography, graphics, and logos libraries.

– Assists staff with PowerPoint and other presentation graphics.

– Research opportunities including upcoming conferences, award submittal deadlines and other BD activities; maintain calendars for this information.

– Coordination of seminars, conferences, meetings, and corporate event sponsorships.

– Management of website and social media channels including optimization and populating with relevant current content.

– Leads annual master resume updates with staff.

– Leads branding efforts including ordering, maintaining, and inventory on all company branded merchandise.

– Prepares press releases for new staff, promotions, and other newsworthy items.

– Leads database efforts to include optimization of fields, contacts, reporting, and population with accurate consistent data.

– Support the company through special assignments including committee involvement, company newsletter, and various other activities.

– Represent the company in appropriate community and professional organizations taking active roles within those organizations.

– Attends conferences and special events.

Proposal Efforts

– Support Program Managers with project capture plans and conducting specific marketing campaigns.

– Coordinate and assist with qualification packages, tailored resumes and proposal responses, including forms and graphics.

– Provide general support as necessary to the BD team and other managers.

– Final production and delivery of qualification packages, proposal responses, etc.

– Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

All Levels:

– Demonstrated graphic layout experience with software such as InDesign, Illustrator, and or Photoshop.

– Must have excellent verbal and written communication skill

– Experience with database implementation and management, preferably Deltek CRM

Level – I

– Three (3) to Five (5) years of relevant marketing or communications experience; preferably in A/E/C Industry; specialized training may be substituted for work experience.

– Associates Degree in marketing, communications or related field; equivalent years of experience may substitute on a 1:1 basis

Level – II

– Five (5)  Seven (7) years of relevant marketing or communications experience; preferably in A/E/C Industry; specialized training may be substituted for work experience.

– Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications or related field; equivalent years of experience may substitute on a 1:1 basis

Preferred Qualifications All Levels

– Knowledge of local A/E/C and professional services industry strongly preferred.

– Knowledge of various client Government contracting, and ANC 8(a) program.

– Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) certification, or is working towards obtaining.

– Experience and knowledge of Alaska Native cultures

Frequent sitting, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing, and seeing (up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus);walking; bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for up to 4 hours; occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described in this job description are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties and responsibilities of this job.  Work performed in a professional office setting utilizing telephone, computer and other office equipment.  Moderate travel required to shareholder communities, subsidiary offices and other locations as needed.
